Our EMDR Intensive Therapy is designed to help you navigate and overcome the deep-rooted challenges that life throws your way. Using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), these sessions happen over consecutive days of intensive therapy is a scientifically backed method.
We guide you through a transformative process that fosters healing from traumatic experiences, anxiety, depression, and other emotional struggles.
Life's complexities bring a myriad of challenges. Our therapy caters to a wide range of issues including relationship difficulties, the aftermath of a traumatic event, struggles related to LGBTQ identity, and the emotional impacts of abuse.
EMDR therapy is versatile and effective, providing a unique approach to processing and overcoming diverse emotional and psychological difficulties.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy technique recognized for its effectiveness in treating trauma and other psychological stress.
It involves the patient recalling distressing experiences while receiving one of several types of bilateral sensory input, such as side-to-side eye movements. This process helps reduce the emotional impact of past traumatic events.
The benefits of our EMDR Intensive Therapy, conducted over consecutive days, are significant. This focused approach allows for:
By dedicating consecutive days to intensive therapy, clients can achieve more rapid progress compared to traditional weekly sessions. This condensed format is especially beneficial for individuals looking for prompt relief and results.
Extended sessions provide more time for in-depth exploration and processing of traumatic memories, leading to a more thorough healing experience.
Back-to-back sessions ensure that the therapeutic momentum is maintained, allowing for a continuous and cohesive therapeutic experience without the interruptions typical in weekly sessions.
This format is ideal for clients with busy schedules or those who find it challenging to attend regular weekly therapy sessions. It's also beneficial for individuals traveling from afar specifically for EMDR therapy.
With consecutive days devoted exclusively to therapy, clients can immerse themselves in the healing process, free from the distractions of their daily routine. This dedicated time promotes a deeper connection with the therapist and a more focused therapeutic experience.
The process begins with a thorough intake to assess your specific needs and determine if EMDR Intensive Therapy is the right approach for you. Once qualified, you will be matched with a therapist.
The intensive therapy sessions are conducted over consecutive days, focusing exclusively on your treatment to facilitate a more rapid healing process.
While most insurance companies do not cover the costs of EMDR Intensive Therapy, some are beginning to recognize its benefits. The cost varies depending on the therapist and the duration of therapy required. We are committed to providing transparent and upfront information about all potential costs.

During your retreat, you will be the therapist's sole client for a full working day. The therapist will typically be available from 9 AM to 4 PM with breaks, and while they employ a consistent treatment approach, variations exist in its application.
If you’re traveling to work with a therapist, we have a list of recommended lodging options:
It depends on several factors, including whether you will need a companion to support your stability during off hours (e.g., in the evening), and whether they are likely to participate in the therapy. You can discuss this with the intake consultant and then make your decision.
Most people will accomplish quite a lot in the retreat. However, if you want to do more, you have the option of returning for another retreat, following up with your therapist through telehealth, or completing your work elsewhere.
Many generally effective treatment approaches fail for some people. This is often because the therapy did not address one or more of the major treatment obstacles. For example:
Our research-supported phase model approach systematically addresses the major treatment issues and obstacles. Proven-effective interventions are used to:
This maximizes the treatment’s efficiency as well as the likelihood of results that endure.
Yes. We reach out to our clients post-treatment to ensure they are doing okay and to remind them that we are always here if they feel they need to come back for more therapy.
All therapists are required to keep information about you confidential. Depending on how the treatment is being paid for, the therapist may not even be communicating with an insurance company. And if you are going to a therapist away from your own home area, there’s little chance of even an accidental confidentiality breach (e.g., by seeing someone you know in the therapy office). Many consider the intensive model to be among the most confidential of therapy formats.
Not all therapy is emotionally intense or tiring, and most people can do it. We do three therapy hours in the morning, break for an hour for lunch, and three therapy hours in the afternoon. However, some people do not use all of their hours, and that’s OK.
Some therapists offer weekend appointments. We generally recommend that you get the whole job done in a single block of days, if possible.
The number of treatment days needed varies considerably. Recovering from a single incident can take just a day or two, whereas recovering from a very significant history of trauma and loss can take one to several weeks. Shortly after the intake Zoom session, you’ll get an estimated number of days needed.
Cost will depend on your therapist’s rate and number of treatment days. At present our special discounted rate for prepaid services ranges from $1500 – $4,000/day, with most at $1,500/day. Fees vary according to therapist experience, expertise, and other factors. You will be responsible for your travel-related costs.
Unfortunately, most insurances do not yet cover this service. Payment will not be processed until time of service, at which time you can pay by debit or credit card (MC/VISA), cash, or check.
We want to know your needs exactly so that we can provide the perfect solution. Let us know what you want and we’ll do our best to help.
