Our EMDR Therapy Basic Training is an EMDRIA-Accredited course that covers the complete spectrum of EMDR therapy, including all required consultation hours. This hands-on clinical skills training integrates EMDR with your psychotherapy approach for both adults and children. Our world-renowned training program is supported by research and exceeds EMDRIA’s criteria.
Participants will be able to:
Integrate EMDR into a comprehensive trauma-informed treatment approach.
The training program includes lectures, demonstrations, in-class practice, and on-the-job practice with your clients. This experiential training involves practicing interventions with other participants. As participants work on their own material during practice sessions, they are encouraged to use their own coping skills and support systems post-session.
All trainees will use the Moodle Online Learning Platform. Once registered, you will set up a Moodle account where you can access course materials, sign in and out each training day, and engage with your cohort’s discussion board. Preliminary requirements, including a participant agreement, must be completed prior to the first day of training.
Rosemary L. Burns, MA is a Licensed Psychological Examiner-Independent in Arkansas, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, and a Nationally Board Certified Counselor. She is an EMDRIA-approved trainer, EMDR certified clinician, and EMDRIA-approved consultant. Rosemary is also an Affiliate Trainer for the Trauma Institute Child Trauma Institute (TICTI), using TICTI’s curriculum and training platform.
EMDR training is open to mental health professionals (psychologists, social workers, counselors, therapists, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, etc.) with Masters degrees or higher, licensed or certified for independent practice. Advanced graduate students, interns, and other professionals on a licensure track with a supervisor's support letter are also eligible. This training suits all professional levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced).
This training is accredited by the EMDR International Association, covering the USA and Canada. Some international EMDR professional associations may not recognize training obtained outside their jurisdiction.
Participants generally complete their training with their group as scheduled. If days are missed, participants have a year from the first class session to make up the days with another cohort (9 months for online training, excluding Training Days 1 and 2). Additional time may be allowed in exceptional circumstances with approval.
