General Information

Training Format

The training program includes lectures, demonstrations, in-class practice, and on-the-job practice with your clients. This experiential training involves practicing interventions with other participants. As participants work on their own material during practice sessions, they are encouraged to use their own coping skills and support systems post-session.



Online Learning Platform

All trainees will use the Moodle Online Learning Platform. Once registered, you will set up a Moodle account where you can access course materials, sign in and out each training day, and engage with your cohort’s discussion board. Preliminary requirements, including a participant agreement, must be completed prior to the first day of training.


Instructor

Rosemary L. Burns, MA is a Licensed Psychological Examiner-Independent in Arkansas, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, and a Nationally Board Certified Counselor. She is an EMDRIA-approved trainer, EMDR certified clinician, and EMDRIA-approved consultant. Rosemary is also an Affiliate Trainer for the Trauma Institute Child Trauma Institute (TICTI), using TICTI’s curriculum and training platform.

Who Should Attend



EMDR training is open to mental health professionals (psychologists, social workers, counselors, therapists, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, etc.) with Masters degrees or higher, licensed or certified for independent practice. Advanced graduate students, interns, and other professionals on a licensure track with a supervisor's support letter are also eligible. This training suits all professional levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced).

  • Special Notes for International Participants

    This training is accredited by the EMDR International Association, covering the USA and Canada. Some international EMDR professional associations may not recognize training obtained outside their jurisdiction.

  • Time to Completion

    Participants generally complete their training with their group as scheduled. If days are missed, participants have a year from the first class session to make up the days with another cohort (9 months for online training, excluding Training Days 1 and 2). Additional time may be allowed in exceptional circumstances with approval.

  • Continuing Education

    Review continuing education information here. Verify your requirements with your state board. Continuing education hours are not available for consultation time, reading requirements, or prerequisites.
